Supplies:

6 fat quarters in Sakura fabric line or fabircs of your choice

1/2 yard fabric for border and binding

 

Cut (3) strips from each fabric 2.5" wide by 22" long. Cut these (18) strips down to 11" long, so there are (36) strips 2.5" x 11".

 

Arrange the first 2 strips as shown in picture #1. Add the third strip to the right as shown in picture #2.

 

This shows placement. After you have the placement of several strips, you can begin sewing them together.

 

The first strip is the left one, and the second strip is on the right (#1). Sew the second to the first using 1/4" seams. Sew the third strip to the second on their long sides (#2). Place another strip on the left and sew on the long sides ( #3). Repeat until you have used all 36 strips. A portion of this is shown in picture #4.

 

Now trim the edges, picture #5 and #6. Trim top and bottom as in pictures #7 and #8. Table runner should measure about 16" x 44".

 

Cut (2) borders WOF x 2.5 or wider if you like, for side borders. Then cut one more WOF x 2.5 for the top and bottom borders. Attach side borders first by pinning border to table runner from center point to corners and then sewing. Attach top and bottom borders in the same manner.
